Searching for an entertaining Thanksgiving appetizer? This turkey platter composed entirely of fresh vegetables is guaranteed to delight guests of every age.

It is simple to make and easy enough that you can invite your kids into the kitchen to make it with you!

1) Collect all your ingredients. You can select your family's favorite vegetables; the more colorful, the better. For our platter, we used English cucumber, yellow bell pepper, red bell pepper, snap peas, and carrot sticks.

2) Select your platter and a small bowl for the dressing. I opted for an oval platter, but if you're preparing for a larger group, you might choose a round one.

3) Start preparing your vegetables and begin layering them onto your platter. I began with the snap peas, followed by red bell peppers, then carrots, and completed the layers with English cucumbers.

4) To form the turkey's head, select a bell pepper that has three bumps at the end. Next, carve a carrot stick into a beak and shape two additional ones into feet.

5) Choose a dressing or dip you love and fill a small bowl with it. We absolutely love Marie's Ranch dressing, so it was essential for our platter.

6) Use a toothpick to secure the turkey head atop the dip. You can also use toothpicks to attach the beak and prevent the feet from sinking into the dip. I used two sprinkles for the eyes, although olives are a great alternative.

My children enjoyed this platter so much that we prepared it for a preschool potluck and our family gathering! Let me know if you make it and if your kids enjoy it as well!
